Bowen works by 're-booting' the body similar to 're-booting' a computer. It returns the body to its default setting, promoting symmetry and releasing muscular tension. Working through fascia and the nervous system to elicit a response thus creating homeostasis (state of balance).
Prior to treatment there will be a free phone consultation to determine the best course of treatment. The treatment is carried out through light clothing. Bowen uses gentle, rolling movements over the fascia of the muscles to send a signal to the brain. This elicits a response by the signals relayed back through the body from the brain helping to create symmetry and release muscle tension
Some Bowen clients find symptoms improve after only one or two sessions. For others, it may take longer, perhaps between 3 to 6 sessions. Clients with on-going chronic conditions often continue with therapy on a regular basis to maintain their wellbeing.
